OUR STORY

It is truthfully said, “Pressure creates DIAMOND. Fire refines GOLD”. It was no less than a mountain heap of pressure and a road of blazing fire when a 17-year-old from Bihar came to Assam in the late 70s to support his family and created his very own business empire to become one of the best packers and movers in India. The year was 1975 when a teenager came to Jorhat, Assam after completing his Higher Secondary in Bhagalpur, Bihar. He started working under the company ‘Transport Service Agency’ owned by his brother-in-law.

The company worked for tea plantations all over the state and was responsible for the transportation of goods and other things as required. Although, he couldn’t complete his formal education; he never stopped learning. His work led him to all parts of India, meet new people, and talk to them. There he learned all the skills and knowledge he could on the transportation industry. He started a company by the year 1980 under the same banner of the mother company he was working for, specialized in home relocation with ONGC being one of the early clients. He never looked back, he grew the company exponentially to sky-high.

It was the year 2004 when the company separated from the mother company and came under his sole proprietorship with a new name. His son joined to support the company and together molded “Rai Transport Corporation” as we know today. That’s the story of Mr. Subodh Rai, our teenager who worked with a monthly wage of Rs 150 to owning his very own top packers and movers company in India with a workforce of hundreds of employees around the nation.
